It’s All Over But the Lyin’
The Democratic National Campaign Committee sent its Republican counterpart a Cease and Desist letter regarding its effort to suppress voter turnout today by making harassing robo-calls to Democratic voters all over the country. TPM has it here.
In the letter, DCCC general counsel Robert Bauer specifically cites the Republican Party’s phone-jamming operation on behalf of Sen. John E. Sununu (R-NH) in 2002. Thanks to the ham-fisted efforts of the RNC and NH Republican State Committee, there is a history, and now a pattern of felonious telephonic hijinx on the part of the Republican Party. Maybe a few more trogs will go to the slam for it, but the damage is done.
This is the just the first wave. The second wave comes tomorrow when voters are turned away from the polls in droves, told that their names no longer appear on the Diebold-purged voter checklists.
The third wave comes when the Diebold machines come up lemons every other time a voter pulls the Democratic lever.
The fourth wave comes Wednesday morning when Bush and Rove remind us that they predicted a Republican win all along, and they could win in Iraq too, if only we’d put our faith in their awesome powers…
